Azərbaycan dilində ətraflı izah

Ailə üzvləri

İngilis dilində ailə üzvləri üçün ən çox işlənən sözlər bunlardır:

  • mother (ana), father (ata), parents (valideynlər)
  • sister (bacı), brother (qardaş)
  • grandmother (nənə), grandfather (baba)
  • aunt (xala, bibi), uncle (dayı, əmi)
  • cousin (əmioğlu, əmiqızı və s.)
  • son (oğul), daughter (qız övladı)
  • wife (arvad), husband (ər)

Sahiblik bildirən sözlər

Ailə üzvlərindən danışarkən my, your, his, her, our, their sözlərindən istifadə edirik:

  • my mother (mənim anam)
  • his sister (onun bacısı, kişi haqqında)
  • her brother (onun qardaşı, qadın haqqında)
  • their children (onların uşaqları)

Azərbaycan dilində "mənim anam" deyirik, ingilis dilində isə yalnız my mother deyirik. "my" sözü artıq "mənim" mənasını verir, ona görə də "my" ilə birlikdə "mine" və ya başqa sahiblik sözü işlətməyə ehtiyac yoxdur.

İnsanları təsvir edən sifətlər

  • kind (mehriban)
  • tall (hündürboy)
  • short (qısa boylu)
  • young (gənc)
  • old (yaşlı)
  • funny (məzəli)
  • friendly (dostyana)
  • nice (xoş, yaxşı)

Bu sifətləri to be feli ilə işlədirik: She is kind. (O, mehribandır.)

Ailə haqqında danışmaq üçün fellər

  • have got (sahib olmaq): I have got two sisters. (Mənim iki bacım var.)
  • live (yaşamaq): We live in Baku. (Biz Bakıda yaşayırıq.)
  • like (sevmək): I like my cousin. (Mən əmioğlumu sevirəm.)
  • work (işləmək): My father works in a bank. (Atam bankda işləyir.)

Tələffüz qeydləri

  • mother [ˈmʌðə], father [ˈfɑːðə] sözlərində th səsi dilin ucunu dişlər arasına qoymaqla deyilir.
  • cousin [ˈkʌzn] sözündə s hərfi "z" kimi oxunur.
  • aunt [ɑːnt] sözü uzun "a" ilə deyilir.

Tipik səhvlər

  • "my mother" yerinə "mine mother" demək.
  • "his" və "her" sözlərini qarışdırmaq: kişi üçün **his **, qadın üçün her.
  • "I have got a brother" cümləsində "a" artiklini unutmaq.

Examples

  • This is my mother. Her name is Aysel.

Bu mənim anamdır. Onun adı Ayseldir.

  • I have got one brother and two sisters.

Mənim bir qardaşım və iki bacım var.

İsimdən əvvəl **my** işlənir, **mine** yox.

He is my brother. His name is Tom.

Qardaş kişi olduğu üçün **he** və **his** işlənməlidir.

  • I have got a sister. Her name is Leyla.

I have got a sister. Her name is Leyla.

Bu cümlə düzgündür, amma çox vaxt şagirdlər **his** ilə **her**-i qarışdırır. Bacı üçün **her** düzgündür.

  • My father work in a bank.

My father works in a bank.

Üçüncü şəxs təkdə (he, she, it) felə **-s** əlavə olunur: work → works.
