Explanation
Colours
Learn these colours: red, blue, green, yellow, black, white, brown, grey, orange, pink, purple. Colours are adjectives. They come before the noun: a red bag, two red bags.
Clothes
Common clothes words: shirt, T-shirt, dress, skirt, trousers, jeans, shorts, jacket, coat, sweater, shoes, socks, hat, scarf. Some clothes words are always plural: **trousers, jeans, shorts, socks, shoes **. Use are or have got with them: My jeans are blue., I have got new shoes.
In sentences
- have got: I have got a red T-shirt.
- this/these: This jacket is black., These shoes are white.
- wearing: She is wearing a blue dress.
Pronunciation
clothes sounds like /kləʊðz/ with a final "z" sound.
