- imtahan vermək = take an exam, give an exam deyil! give an exam müəllimin imtahan keçirməsidir.
- pass = keçmək (uğurla). I passed the exam, imtahandan keçdim. 'İmtahan verdim' mənasında I passed demək səhvdir.
- learn vs study: learn, öyrənib mənimsəmək (nəticə), study, oxumaq, üzərində işləmək (proses). I study medicine at university. I learned to swim.
- teacher məktəbdə, lecturer/professor universitetdə.
- mark / grade, qiymət. I got a high mark. (I got a high price deyil!)
- **academic year **, tədris ili; term / semester, rüb/semestr.
