Present Perfect Continuous
İndiki bitmiş davamedici zaman
After this lesson you can
- Can describe actions that started in the past and are still continuing, using for and since.
- Can explain present results of a recent activity (e.g. I'm tired because I've been running).
- Can choose between Present Perfect Simple and Present Perfect Continuous in common situations.
Explanation
Form
have/has been + -ing: She has been studying since 9 a.m.
Use
- An activity that started in the past and is still going on, often with for and since: I've been living here for five years.
- A recent activity with a result we can see now: I'm tired because I've been running.
Simple or Continuous?
The continuous form focuses on the activity and its duration. The simple form focuses on the result or a number: I've been reading all day vs I've read three chapters.
State verbs such as know, like, want are not normally used in the continuous: I've known her for years.
Azərbaycan dilində ətraflı izah
Nə vaxt işlənir?
Present Perfect Continuous (have/has been + V-ing) iki əsas halda işlənir:
- Keçmişdə başlayıb hələ də davam edən proses. Adətən for (müddət) və since (başlanğıc nöqtəsi) ilə gəlir.
- I have been learning English for three years., Üç ildir ingilis dili öyrənirəm.
- Təzəcə bitmiş, amma nəticəsi indi görünən proses.
- Your eyes are red. Have you been crying?, Gözlərin qızarıb. Ağlayırdın?
Azərbaycan dili ilə müqayisə
Azərbaycan dilində biz çox vaxt sadəcə indiki zamandan istifadə edirik: Üç ildir burada yaşayıram. Buna görə öyrənənlər səhvən I live here for three years deyirlər. İngilis dilində isə keçmişdən indiyə qədər uzanan müddət üçün Present Perfect (Continuous) lazımdır: I have been living here for three years.
Quruluş
| Növ | Forma |
|---|---|
| Təsdiq | I/you/we/they **have been working **; he/she/it has been working |
| İnkar | I haven't been sleeping well. |
| Sual | How long have you been waiting? |
Danışıqda qısaltmalar çox işlənir: **I've been **, she's been.
Simple yoxsa Continuous?
- Continuous prosesin özünü, müddətini vurğulayır: I've been writing emails all morning.
- Simple nəticəni, sayı, bitmiş işi vurğulayır: I've written ten emails.
- Say göstərəndə (how many, three times) Continuous işlənmir.
Diqqət: vəziyyət felləri
know, like, want, believe, own, understand kimi vəziyyət (state) felləri adətən Continuous formada işlənmir: I've known him for ten years (not I've been knowing).
Examples
I've been waiting for the bus for twenty minutes.
İyirmi dəqiqədir avtobus gözləyirəm.
Azərbaycan dilində indiki zaman, ingilis dilində Present Perfect Continuous.

O, aylardır dissertasiyasını yazır, amma cəmi iki fəsil yazıb.
Proses (continuous) və nəticə (simple) bir cümlədə.
