Explanation
Describing graphs
Verbs: rise, increase, grow / fall, decrease, drop, decline / remain stable, level off / fluctuate / peak at.
Two patterns: rose sharply (verb + adverb) or a sharp rise (adjective + noun). Degree: slight(ly), gradual(ly), steady/steadily, significant(ly), sharp(ly), dramatic(ally).
Prepositions: from... to (start and end), by (the difference), a rise of 10%, **peaked at **, in 2020.
Tenses: past simple for finished periods, present perfect for up to now, is expected to for predictions. Start with an overview (Overall, ...), then key figures and comparisons (while, whereas, compared to).
Azərbaycan dilində ətraflı izah
Trend felləri
| Artım | Azalma | Sabitlik | Dəyişkənlik |
|---|---|---|---|

Fel + zərf və ya sifət + isim
Eyni fikri iki cür demək olar:
- Sales rose sharply in 2023. (fel + zərf)
- There was a sharp rise in sales in 2023. (sifət + isim)
Dəyişmənin dərəcəsi: slightly / slight (bir az), gradually / gradual (tədricən), steadily / steady (bərabər sürətlə), significantly / significant (xeyli), **sharply / sharp **, dramatically / dramatic (kəskin).
Sözönüləri, ən çox səhv olunan hissə
- from ... to: rose from 20% to 35% (başlanğıc və son)
- by: rose by 15% (fərq qədər)
- of: a rise of 15% (isimdən sonra)
- at: peaked at 80 (zirvə nöqtəsi)
- in + il: *** in** 2020*; between 2010 and 2020
Azərbaycan dilində 15% artdı deyirik və sözönü işlətmirik; ingiliscədə by mütləqdir: increased 15% → increased by 15%.
Zamanlar
- Keçmiş illər haqqında: past simple (rose, fell).
- İndiyə qədər davam edən: present perfect (has risen since 2015).
- Proqnoz: is expected to / is predicted to + V1 (is expected to reach 50% by 2030).
İcmal (overview)
Yaxşı qrafik təsviri ümumi trendlə başlayır: Overall, the number of... increased over the period. Sonra əsas rəqəmlər və müqayisə gəlir: ***while **, **whereas **, **compared to *, twice as many as.
