Explanation
Mixed conditionals
A past condition can have a present result: If + past perfect, would + verb, If I had taken the job, I would live in London now. A present fact can have a past result: If + past simple, would have + past participle, If I spoke French, I would have understood the film.
wish / if only
- Present: wish + past simple, I wish I had more time.
- Past: wish + past perfect, I wish I had studied harder.
- Annoying behaviour: wish + would, I wish you would stop shouting. If only is stronger. Use hope, not wish, for simple future hopes.

Bəzən keçmişdəki hadisənin nəticəsi indi hiss olunur. Bu zaman üçüncü və ikinci şərti qarışdırırıq:
If + past perfect, would + V1 (keçmiş səbəb → indiki nəticə)
- If I had taken the job, I would live in London now. (İşi qəbul etsəydim, indi Londonda yaşayardım.)
Tərsi də mümkündür, indiki xüsusiyyət keçmiş nəticəyə təsir edir: If + past simple, would have + V3
- If I spoke French, I would have understood the film yesterday.
Azərbaycan dilində hər iki halda eyni -saydı ... -ardı quruluşu işlənir, ona görə də ingiliscədə zamanı düşünərək seçmək lazımdır: nəticə indidirsə, would + V1, keçmişdirsə, would have + V3.

If only eyni qaydalarla işlənir, amma daha güclü emosiya bildirir: If only I had listened to you!
be felində formal üslubda bütün şəxslər üçün were işlənir: I wish I were taller. Danışıqda was da eşidilir.
Diqqət
- wish + would öz hərəkətimiz üçün işlənmir:
I wish I would have a car→ I wish I had a car. - Gələcək üçün sadə arzu bildirəndə hope işlədilir: I hope you pass the exam (
I wish you pass). - Azərbaycanca 'kaş' sözündən sonra bəzən indiki zaman işlədilir, ingiliscədə isə həmişə bir zaman geri çəkilir: indiki → past simple, keçmiş → past perfect.

İndiki vəziyyət üçün wish-dən sonra past simple gəlir.
I wish I didn't go to that party yesterday.
I wish I hadn't gone to that party yesterday.
Keçmişə peşmanlıqda past perfect lazımdır.
I wish you pass your exam.
I hope you pass your exam.
Gələcək üçün xoş arzuda hope işlənir. wish bu mənada yalnız sabit ifadələrdə olur: I wish you good luck.

now sözü nəticənin indiki olduğunu göstərir, ona görə would + V1 lazımdır.
